In Matthew 25 Jesus says 'when I was hungry you gave me food, when I was thirsty you gave me drink, when I was a stranger you welcomed me, when I was naked you clothed me, when I was sick you visited me, when I was in prison you came to me... Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’
In and effort to be obedient to Jesus, we visit the rougher streets of Mt Clemens, South Warren and Cass Corridor in Detroit. Many of these people are dealing with addictions, homelessness and personal struggles. For their physical needs we provide food, clothing and basic hygiene products. For their spiritual needs we hand out Bibles, compassionately listen to their needs and pray with them as well as study God's Word together.
We have been amazed by the way that God has ministered not only to those who we serve, but to those who are serving as well.
