Jesus is not what we expect... He is so much better. In five different Jesus encounters, we examined how Jesus was not what people expected. Their preconceived notions of who He was and how He would act were wrong, and these notions are still alive today. And Jesus is still dispelling them. He is not a foolish, old-fashioned teacher. He is not someone who uses His righteousness to condemn. He is not a threat. He is not too busy... and ultimately, He did not stay dead. Jesus is a teacher of timeless truth (He is truth). Jesus is still intriguing the thoughts of people. Jesus does not wish to condemn sinners... He saves them. Jesus is alive... the ultimate surprise.
